How Does a Lifestyle Newborn Photography Session Work?
Types and styles of newborn sessions can range significantly, so it’s important to find a photographer that specializes in the type of newborn photo session you want. Meghan Mace Photography specializes in lifestyle newborn photography sessions.
Lifestyle newborn photography sessions at Meghan Mace Photography happen indoors at your home during the first few weeks of life or in the first 48 hours after giving birth at the hospital. The sessions aren’t posed and don’t involve many props outside of something simple, such as a swaddling blanket or bonnet you might have in your home.
During the session, babies are snuggled by mom, dad and/or siblings and captured in their new home and environment. This means a few different rooms in your home are used during the session, most likely including your bedroom, baby’s room and possibly a few other rooms as well.
Or, alternatively, if you are opting for a fresh 48 session, the session will include all the little details of your newborns first few days of life.
Whether at home or in the hospital, the lifestyle newborn photography session will capture the essence of your new little bundle of joy and freeze this precious moment in time for you.
When Do I Schedule My Newborn Session?
It is recommended that newborn sessions be scheduled during your third trimester of pregnancy, or when you have a better idea of your due date. That being said, there is never too early of a time to schedule a newborn session.
Only a few newborn sessions are scheduled every month in order to leave room for early and late arrivals. Once your little one makes his or her grand appearance the final date will be adjusted as needed.
However, if you don’t schedule your session early, or you forget to schedule your session (pregnancy brain is a real thing, y’all! It really was for me!), please don’t hesitate to call. There could indeed be an opening, and I would love to schedule a session for you! Don’t hesitate to contact me!
How Do You Schedule a Fresh 48 Session?
A fresh 48 newborn session will be based on your tentative due date. Meghan Mace Photography will leave a window open the week before and the week after your expected due date for a potential schedule adjustment. We will try our best to make sure your new baby’s ‘Fresh 48’ session happens!
However, in the rare case that the ‘Fresh 48’ session cannot be completed, an in-home lifestyle newborn session will be offered as a placement option.
