Usually, Halloween in Michigan means lots of layers. Like, so many layers that it is almost impossible to walk straight, let alone run, in your Halloween costumes. I remember that any costume I wore was normally too big for me. That is, until I got my 5,000+ layers on for underneath my costume. Then the costume became way too snug. And itchy. (Something about lots of clothes, fake hair and sweat. Not a great combo.) But, did I complain? Nope! I was getting candy!!! Lots and lots of candy!
None the less, when we signed up to go to the 2015 Detroit Zoo Boo, I had flash backs of all the layers I had wear under my Halloween costume. I started thinking about how I was going to have to bundle my son up in multiple layers. I was certain the temp would be -30 and it would be raining out. (I have vivid memories of the weather presenting itself just so when I went to the Zoo Boo as a kid!)
Imagine the pleasant surprise when I realized the weather was going to be absolutely perfect on our Zoo Boo date. I’m talking clear skies and 70. In the middle of October. In Michigan. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I wasn’t! It was perfect. Take a look below for my favorites from our adventure…
