When most people think of winter in Michigan thoughts of cold, dreary, gray days with frigid temperatures often come to mind. While I am not going to deny the truth behind that thought, I will say there is a lot more to the cold winter months than what first comes to mind. Winter festivals are usually in full swing and if the weather isn’t too harsh, walking outside during these events is really enjoyable. Both Downtown Rochester and Frankenmuth had ideal temps this winter for a little winter fest exploration sessions. We took little man with my parents to Downtown Rochester’s Fire and Ice Festival, followed by a little time at Frankenmuth’s 25th celebration of Zender’s Winterfest with Des’s Grammy.
