Michigan Salt Dough Ornaments | Personal Photography Post

Nothing says March like Christmas ornaments. Am I right?

I might be a little mixed up with my seasons, but I’ve been wanting to make some salt dough ornaments and now seemed like the perfect time. (The ornaments are as easy as they sound: Flour, salt, water. Bam. Ornament.) Let’s face it, we all have about 1,000,000 things pinned to Pinterest that we never get around to, so my new motto is, if I have a moment (and that’s pretty much all I have these days. One moment.) I seize it and use it to its fullest potential. Both my men had a spare moment and gave me a hand with the craftiness as well.

Mr. D would like for you to know that homemade paint (flour, water and food coloring) does not taste as good as it looks. …he’d probably say that it tastes better!

Of course our craftiness had to spread a lot of mitten love. …of the time I love living in the mitten. Spring. Summer. And Fall. The seasons when you don’t need to have ornaments out. <3

Overall, I’d say the ornaments came out pretty good. They were baked at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, prior to being painted to help them dry out a bite. They still were a tad soft, but I am hoping they will dry out more as they are exposed to the air. Have you ever made Salt Dough Ornaments?
